2012 MSOKC Schedule


2012 MSOKC Schedule


 In an effort to meet the needs and feedback of The majority of MSOKC club members , this years schedule is designed for our club and will incorporate these improvements.

        1. No Saturday races.
        2. Evenly spaced race weekends. ( Every Other Weekend )
                  a. No back to back race weekends.
                  b. No three week breaks between race weekends.
        3. Evenly spaced race formats.
                  a. Two normal direction races followed by one clockwise direction.
                  b. 4 Qualifying race days and 2 Standing Start race days.
       4. The Commercial Point Karting Classic and the MSOKC have had and will continue to have a close relationship. Therefore , even though it is a non-championship event , we have incorporated there race dates into our schedule.

2011 Toughman 225 and Toughkid Event!

NOTE:   DATE CHANGE!  Due to a conflict with the RoboPong event we have pushed this event back one week.

5th Annual MSOKC Yamaha TOUGHMAN 225
@ Circleville Raceway Park Sunday October 30th, 2011 (just south of Columbus OH).

225 laps around one of the most physical tracks in the Midwest will test not only machine but the driver(s) as well. RAIN OR SHINE!

CLONE Class added tio 2011 MSOKC Toughman 225 event!  Clones under the WKA Box Stock Rules (International Class Box Stock section section 711) will be run together with the yamaha but scored separatly during the 225 lap event.


Equipment Rules
Yamaha Super Can Heavy Manufactures Cup per WKA (360lbs) or Clone per WKA International Box Stock section 711).
Tires: Bridgestone YLC, YKC, MG Red, Dunlop SL4 only (8 tires per team). Rain tires OPEN
Driver(s) minimum age is 13+ year old.
9L fuel tank maximum
No radios as per WKA.
Chain drive only, no oiling systems, no axle clutches

Pit / Race rules
Transponders required (rental available)
Mandatory 2 pit stop minimum.
Refueling jug will be standard racing type jug, ¾ inch max ID hose. No modifications
No refueling allowed with driver in the kart
Hot Grid! Max 4 team members (including driver(s)) allowed on Hot Grid.
Fuel will be spec supplied at the track / Burris Blend or Caster
Weight will be confirmed at end of event with all drivers being weighed separately with their kart and a full tank of fuel.
Starting position will be determined by a 3 lap qualifying session.
$80 entry fee per team for Pre-Registration must be received by Oct 9th
$100 entry fee day of the race

Guaranteed payout for 1st -3rd for Yamaha Class. Further places paid depending on number of entries.
1st place $500
2nd Place $350
3rd Place $250
4th place $200
5th place $100

Clone Class is $300 to win if 5 or more entries.  Further placed to be paid depending on number of entries.


Gates open at 8am. Registration from 8:30-10-30am. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS
Practice from 9-11. Drivers meeting at 11:15. Qualifying at 11:30.

MSOKC Race of Champions to take place at HIGH NOON

ALSO! ToughKID Events - to take place after Race of Champions. Yamaha Sportsman will be run per WKA Man Cup rules; however tire compounds will be same as stated above for 225. Event will be 30 laps with ONE Mandatory pit stop. Kart must enter Hot Grid area at a safe speed, stop engine, refire and then can reenter race. Karts will be allowed to be restarted by a corner worker if it is safe to do so. Awards will go to the top 3 finishers. Entry Fee is $30 + Pit Pass. Transponder Required.

2011 Board of Directors Nominations are OPEN!

Nominations are now open for the 2011 BoD!  Voting will be done by Master Members at the banquet.  Political Action Committees and Lobbiest are welcome to take me to lunch or fly my family to Hawaii for 'a meeting'!

For all those that always B!&*h and feel that things should be done differently, here is your chance.  Put your name in the mix by sending a Private message to Paul Lyda or email me at plyda@signaffects.com.

We need some new blood and ideas to help the club grow and develop!  BTW rumor has it that the Federal Government is providing us a stimulas so that the BoD members pay can be 2X's what it has been!

2010 Season Banquet - January 8th

We are changing things up a little this year.  After hearing much feedback from members the BoD decided that at the Banquet will NOT serve dinner.  Instead, the club will provide soft drinks and coffee while providing the membership with yet another opportunity to show off their culinary  skills by bringing either a finger food or dessert.  If your ride is powered by a Yamaha we ask that you bring a finger food type snack.  If your ride is not powered by a yamaha we ask you to bring a dessert.

Location: American Legion Post 614 in Hilliard located at 3898 Lattimer Street Hilliard, Ohio 43026.

Time: Hall will open at 7:00 with ceremonies beginning at about 8PM.  So go out to a early dinner with those special to you and then come have a great time with us at the Banquet!

Fee: change to help us all is the fee.  We are asking for $5 per attendee to help cover the cost of the hall rental. 

As usual, there will be a cash bar (I am sure that some of you will need that! :)

ALL are invited to this great event as we plan to lighten it us a little and have some great prizes!

2010 Race of Champions!

Sunday October 24 we will have the 3rd Annual Race of Champions!  This event will be held prior to the ToughMan Event.  All 2010 Class champions are invited to compete against each other in Steve's "Equally Prepared" rental karts!  What a great event to watch as we see these master drivers sqaure off against and sometimes 'on' each other!

If you feel that you were wronged in not finishing 1st, you can partipate in this event too by paying $40.00 for the priviliage.

Race #12 Rained Out!

Make up for Race #12 will be October 17th.  It will still be standing starts and clockwise.

Keep your pit passes and you will get in free.  If you were not able to make the race on Sunday, no worries it will be a total redo on the 17th and all are welcome!

Planning to run the Toughman?  This is the weekend before so ou can do some great testing to ensure you have all the special endurance modifications working correctly!

2010 Powder Puff Race Coming Soon!!

MSOKC will be hosting the 2nd Annual Powder Puff Event on Saturday September 4th!  This was a great time last year!!!  We will use the same format as last year.  Entry Fee is $10.00 and is open to any female with no racing experience in the last few years. 

Winner will receive a gift certificate from Charles Penzone!

REAR BUMPERS

Full Width Rear Bumpers are now required at all MSOKC events!  Rear bumper must extend to at least the midpoint of the rear tire.  Plastic or metal are acceptable. 

This will be part of safety tech.  If you do not have one, we will have one you can purchase so that you can run with us.

Planning for the Commercial Point Grand Prix is underway.  The event is planned for August 14th - 15th. 

Our very own Steve Tatman is playing a major role in this event and once again MSOKC will step up to provide some experience and manpower for this great event.  In exchange for our support they will help to support our banquet! 

If you are racing, we will need help in set up and tear down.  If you are not racing, we will need corner workers and people to man an MSOKC display tent to promote our club!  Please see Steve or Paul to let them know how you can help OUR club.

The next race in the 2010 MG MSOKC Champiopnship Series will be run Saturday June 26th. 

This is the first NIGHT race of the year!  Remember to bring those clear visors!!!

This race will be run in the Counter Clockwise (normal) with a pea draw format for the heat races.  Rolling Starts (except Shifters) and no qualifing.
